Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta, Georgia is the financial, administrative, and distribution center as well as the cultural, retail, entertainment, communications and transportation hub for the 4.1 million people who call the metro area home. At the latest count, all but a handful of Fortune 500 corporations, including InterContinental Hotels Group, maintain national or regional facilities in the city. Atlanta's slogan, "The World's Next Great International City", is proving true. About 35 nations have trade offices in Atlanta. Selection of Georgia's capital city as site of the 1996 Olympic Games ensured Atlanta's national and global recognition.
Atlanta has four distinct seasons which allow residents and visitors to enjoy a range of comfortable climates and styles of clothing. The summer and winter months are relatively short, giving way to long, gentle springs and autumns.

Atlanta's popularity as a convention city might better dictate the best time to visit more than the weather. Major conventions tend to affect the availability of hotel rooms, flights, etc.
